but here I am blogging anyway.

#1 Taylor's 'silent' signs have red flashing lights on them. I tried to take one with its light on but couldn't. A lecturer walking by looked at me and tried to figure out what I was photographing. My class rep rushed over, posed, then rushed away before I could take a photo. I gave up on photographing the red light.

#2 ahh. you do not know how hard it was to walk away.

#3 This is a ... physics thingamajig. I forgot its name. We learnt it in Form 5. =(
EDIT: I remember. It's a cathode ray tube!

#4 This is an engineering thingamajig.

(there's a video of the dominoes falling.)

#8 'Selled Out' was the WORST movie. The movie was so bad people left the theater in little groups. I felt like shaking the characters to make them speak faster. Halfway through, karaokae subtitles appeared for us to sing to.

#9 Taylor's ICPU lecturers liked the movie so much, Taylor's is now screening the movie.

***

#10 Michelle: This is you. You shrank so now you're in the jacket.
Ju Vern: I turned bright yellow.
Michelle: Yes!

(His name is Mr. Smiley. He is a stress ball. I punch him during class.)

#11 MYPLACE HAS KITTENS.

#12 First it was happy and we were happy and IT IS SO CUTE.

#13 But then it got mad at us. =(

We celebrated Teacher's Day today!
We switched off the lights, gave them all cake and sang them a teacher's day song.

Mr. John was so very cute. We got Jun Kiat to give him the cake and make a speech (because Mr John goes 'Yong Jun Kiat' in this very grave tone whenever he catches him dreaming) and he looked so confused in the darkness but when Jun Kiat said 'Thank you... for being so observant' he got embarrased, took a sheet of paper and covered his face!

Mark gave Ms Ng cake after lots of shoving the cake around and complaining and giggles from the rest of us watching the drama but in the end it was all quite fun. Mark finished his impromptu speech with '... and we want to give you this cake as a token of our gratitude' then she looked at him and said 'are you sure?' Haha. Then she took away points for being uncreative (3rd cake of the day) but gave us points for effort (singing a song).

Suraj gave Ms Kwa cake! She looked at the box and went 'got cake ah?' =) then she was so excited she forgot her bag.

Mr Tharam was so funny as usual but halfway through, in the dark, there was a moment there. The y=mx+c analogy was so very sweet. 'You're m, because no matter how many times you differentiate, you're still there. And c is for Cabanna.' Mark.

Ms Loke got cake and a speech from Min Chern! She's the Golgi apparatus because she modifies us, packages us then we go out of Taylor's, ready for the outside world. Then we sang the teacher's day song for the 5th time.

Ahh good times. =)

You KNOW things are bad when you have three assignments due next week but you declare anyway 'this week is actually quite a light week'. What's sadder is that it's true. I want to sleep. And shop, but I'll settle for just one right now.

... I have so many words to say.

Did you know that I went for a week's hospital attachment in HKL - Hospital Kuala Lumpur - and since then I've just avoided thinking about it? I wish I could see into the future. I wish someone could tell me what to do.

Did you know we went out for steamboat to celebrate the return of the NS people for a weekend? YC and CS look exactly the same. Lung Wang told me off for being late but forgave Jason. Syl's still random. I forced Chun Siang to give me a detailed NS schedule. We laughed and laughed.

Did you know I have successfully navigated MyPlace to find Charlene's apartment? We lay on her living room sofas, reminiscing about secondary school. Her roommate took my ID so we sneaked past the guard by splitting hers - she took the ID, I took the bright red strap. Ah, Taylor's.

Did you know I'm scared?

Sunday, March 15, 2009 @7:40 PM

hee hee hian chung came into my room today and declared it a war zone. I have a stack of printed papers on my lap, half of which won't end up being used. I shudder to think about the environment. I'm typing this between printing, which takes too long because I tak sampai hati to let the printer print on one side of the page only.

I heart my printer.

(oh, the stack of the day is biology - should dna be used as conclusive evidence in criminal courts?)

college tomorrow. you have no idea how depressing the thought of it is. mostly because I sense trouble. I swear I keep forgetting things. don't believe me? ask syn dee, whose question 'where are you' in the morning frequently receives the reply 'in the library. feeling stupid.' tres horrible.

I HAVE NOT DONE MY COURSEWORK. ultimately, the worst thing about the end of holidays.

Chem Lab for aLcoholics

Distillation Setup; complete with Liebig condenser

Boiling fermented Sunkist.

Product: Alcohol

I would show you what our ethanol looked like when the orange solution turned vaguely, reluctantly green (Dichromate Test) but Suraj poured it down the sink.

No, we did not test the alcohol by drinking it. It smelled really bad.

wheee I feel damn free today wei

done with exams for the week and YES I KNOW chem's next tuesday but people let me be happy for all of one day! before we start this crazy cycle again.

played cards at the back of the malaysian studies lecture hall with the guys today. haha. bought bread for lunch, too. sat at burger king to eat the sandwiches. thank you baker's cottage.

I discovered that I am going to be 18 in ONE WEEK. hey that's insane don't you think? wooo we are going to watch jason mraz on the 4th of march - thank you, people who did not abandon me because of the price. as for the rest of you - redeem yourselves!

(redemption is a mr john inside joke, along with STORY! but mr tharam says if we want to redeem ourselves, we should find a church to do it in - not his class.)

Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be

I dare you to move

- Dare You to Move, Switchfoot

Beautiful song. I just realised.

I may complain about SAM alot, but you know what? I am content.

Two snapshots:

#1 Our math exam papers have squares on them. They freak me out because I try to fit one letter/number in one box, and I go crazy trying to center align fractions.

Those there are my lab goggles. They are not very useful but they look very cool. Oh, and that's the infamous GC - graphic calculator. It's horrible. Ask me why.

Colourful book over there is Taylor's student planner. It's for us to note down deadlines and exam dates because there are just so many of them to remember! I don't really use it though.

#2 My lunch the other day. Two blobs of rice because I substituted chips. I didn't finish it. I need a guy to come to Taylor's Subang so I can give them excess food.

EVERY SINGLE DAY we stand at the guard house and debate over where to go for lunch. So in Malaysian Studies that day we made an evelope full of choices so we could draw lots. Now we pick out lunch venues, then argue over the choices the evelope gives us.

This is me, badgering Jun-Wen. I think if you count the ratio of my lines to his, it would be about 10:1. I should not be blamed though. I have not seen him in ages and I miss him. =(

Tuesday, January 6, 2009 @4:38 PM

So. It is 4.38 pm and I am sitting on the bed eating cookie lumps in ice cream, reading something comfortably fictional and Facebook-ing. Because college is tiring and what else is there to do but sit on the bed and eat ice cream to destress?

Today was the second day of life as a SAM student in Taylor's. However I shall refrain from commenting until I am sure nothing here will get me into trouble somewhere down the (metaphorical) road. If you want to message me and chat though... =)

Haha no lah I'm not suffering! Spotting more and more people around campus and trying really hard to link names and faces because I am. so. bad. at. faces. Damn. Also, my name is hard to remember. It is so true that chinese names just... escape you, while english names stay in your head! Not fair.

What did I do today?

1. Couldn't sleep again! My brain is too used to staying active till 4 in the morning. Blah don't tell anyone responsible I said that. I had to get up at 5-ish. Just when I want to sleep. =( At least the stars were shining though!

2. Get names and phone numbers and emails from classmates. Good idea that someone had and we all started doing. We class people all hung out at the Asian Cafe because of this really cool guy who stood up and said Hey. Why don't we get to know each other? =)

3. EH WE SAW NADIAH! who's doing SAM and will finish when we do! That is so cool. Also saw Welia! who's doing ADP and will go off to America. Met up with Eric, whose name I saw on the first day and was confused about. his classmate's name is Yam. right. Didn't see Syn Dee, even though she was around =(

4. Got my lab coat and goggles. Pictures when I get around to it. Goggles look good. =P Unfortunately cannot be used for swimming. Lab coat! Haha lab coat! We have practical exams in SAM - where you conduct experiments then plan your own! Nice. Sounds exciting.

5. Wander around looking for my student ID. Still don't have it. Ah well. At least don't have to wear a tag. But because of lack of ID, cannot borrow books from library. And no access to student portal. Haihhhhhh. Is tempted to steal Chee Kong's.

6. Met most of my lecturers. Have not seen English teacher. We Malaysian SAM students take the subject English as a Second Language. Shortened to ESL. It cracks me up. Second language pula. I shudder to think of Chinese as my first language. Malay hardly counts.

I did other things but you know what? This was supposed to be a short post.

Damn. I finished the ice-cream.

I command myself to be happy. and excited. and shameless. =)

Good luck everyone, on The First Day!

(YC advises you to smile at people, but not to smile until they think you're crazy. Good advice, methinks.)
