I am laughing a little because I just realised that an accusation I hurled at YC a while back really applies to me, too.
'You LIKE stressing yourself out, don't you?'
I asked as he moaned about pulling together enough people for yet another gathering, and at the same time made vague plans for the next one.
He said no, and we laughed about it at the time - but here's the thing. If he didn't do it, no one would. So very, very true.
I find myself doing the same thing, though perhaps on a smaller scope and somewhat less often. Handing out suggestions that manifest unexpectedly, for meet-ups, for sleepovers, and now, for a lunch before college starts and we all start changing, fast.
It is stressful. But you know what? All the work, all the calls, all the persuasion and indecision? It all works out, and it's all worth it.
